The Communist Manifesto by Marx, Engels
Last month I came across a copy of Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. I expected to find a well-thought-out discussion of his idea and how it would benefit the average Joe Citizen. Instead, I found an 86-page rant on "class struggle" and "oppression of the masses" and the inevitability of revolution.
There is nothing on constructive plans or even an overview on how the system will work. He only mentions in passing that he means to do away with private property, the traditional family, and division of labor. We're all going to abandon the cities, spread out across the land, and live happily ever after in our agrarian paradise.
Yeah, that'll work.
